When Japan attacked Pearl Harbor on Dec, 7th 1941, it brought the US into the War on both fronts. The fighting in the Pacific was brutal. Japanese soldiers where very fanatical about dying for their Emperor and would fight to the bloody death.
With all of the islands in the Pacific that had to be taken to lead up to the final planned invasion of Japan, many Japanese collectible items were left behind to be kept by old warriors, as mementos of the war. Today, these treasures of history are very collectible items and can be a great addition to any World War 2 collectors collection.
